Konepaja area
The Vallila Konepaja Area in Helsinki – once the outskirts and industrial area of Helsinki, is now a cozy and interesting urban and developing complex, which has been built up with various office spaces, one hotel, and several restaurants and bars.
The Pasila workshop is a nationally significant industrial and cultural environment. It was once the Finnish State Railways’ largest workshop, employing up to about 1,500 people at its peak.
The Konepaja area is located about three kilometers from the Helsinki city center, between Alppiharju and Vallila.
Kanresta
HUU Konepaja is operated by Kanresta, which consists of almost 30 individual restaurants in eight different locations.
For a long time, Kanresta has had the right for the “Yhteiskunnallinen yritys” badge as an expression of successfully combining business and societal goals. Responsibility is at the core of the business and Kanresta divides its share of profits to its owners – the Finnish Public Health Assocation’s – “Suomen Terveydelle” fundraiser.
